Atiku awaits Wike after 5 failed attempts

 


The Presidential Candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, on Saturday in Abuja while speaking at a town hall meeting organized by Channels Television spoke on the crisis within the party. 


Atiku said, he has met with Governor Wike who is the spokesperson for Integrity party, two times in Port Harcourt, two times in Abuja, one time in London, personally. “It is not my part; it is on the other side ; I am waiting for him.” 


Recall, Governor Wike and memebers of the integrity, Governor Samuel Ortom (Benue), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Seyi Makinde (Oyo) and some stakeholders of the librated group of the party have refused to endorse Atiku Abubakar’s Presidential Campaign over failure of the National chairman of the party(PDP) resignation. 


Dr. Iyorchia Ayu succceded Prince Uche Secondus in 2021. The National Chairmand and former Minister during President Olusegun Obasanjo’ 1999 and 2007 government is allegedly to have diverted N1.1Billion party funds.  


This was made known by Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike at PDP Campaign rally , held at Adokiye Amiensimaka Stadium in Rivers State.


Meanwhile, all efforts by Atiku Abubakar and the National Working Committee(NWC), Board of Trustees and other members of the party hav been futile after many attempts to resolve the crisis between the new faction within the party and the national chairman faction.

2.7 Million living with HIV - UNICEF

Image: Pixabay   According to UNICEF, more than 110 children between the ages of 0-19 years died from AIDS in 2021 and the report also states that there’re 310,000 newly infected cases, which makes up 2.7million people living with HIV currently.   The report point out that    new HIV infections among younger children within 0 - 14years reduced by 52% from 2010 to 2021 and infections among adolescents with the age range of 15 - 19years also reduced by 40% .  Meanwhile antiretroviral drugs among pregnant women living with HIV also increased from 46% to 81% within the span of 10years.  Adults living with HIV has been increasing for the past seven years, currently 20% higher than children . ICPC arrests Dbanj for fraud.

ICPC arrests/detains dbanj for fraudulently siphoning N-Power funds, reports says he connived with some government officials, created ghost beneficiaries and paid the money into accounts which have been linked to him.  Founded by President Muhammadu Buhari, N-power is structured to address the issue of unemployment and also help increase social development . The scheme is part of National Social Investment Program, a social welfare scheme created by the Federal government of Nigeria to provide skills acquisition and jobs for youths and a monthly salary of N30,000.
