IGP stops Governors from opposing rallies in states.

The Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba has said that no governor will be allowed the privilege to stop opposition parties from performing their rallies.
Dandaura Mustapha , who represented the office of Deputy Inspector General of Police at the political parties summit that was held in Abuja. Released the statement by the IG, which says that; state commissioners have been instructed to ensure that all parties are allowed to campaign accordingly.
“unfortunately, some of the governors are not helping matters. They have not laid foundation to give other political parties access to their campaign avenues…
“ Some try to manipulate the campaigns. Some are even sponsors of thugs to pursue the opposition, remove billboards , remove their posters and destroy their campaign offices, we are aware and we have reports. “
He added, “ The commissioner of police have been instructed to arrest all hoodlums no matter where they belong to, whoever is sponsoring them, we will arrest them and charge them to court, he further added that, any commissioner of police that does not comply to the instructions will be redeployed.
