Labour Party expels Doyin Okupe and nine others over constitutional breaches.

The Director General of Peter Obi’s Presidential campaign, Doyin Okupe and some other members of the Labour Party where expelled by the Ogun State Executive Council(SEC) of the party for failure to pay dues. The State Chairman, Michael Ashade, along side with the state secretary of the party, Feyisola Michael , both briefed the press in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
They demands Mr Doyin Okupe should tender receipts as evidences of payment in respect to membership dues prior to December 1st, 2022 .
Mr Michael Ashade, also demand that the national president of the party, LP, should obey the constitution by relieving Mr Doyin Okupe who’s the Campaign DG of Obi - Datti presidential campaign of his position for refusal to pay dues after repeated reminders.
“ Article 9 of the party constitution states that only members who pay their monthly membership dues at rates prescribed shall be deemed to be bonafide members of the party. Arrears of dues of up to six months shall lead to forfeiture of membership,” State Chairman.
Among others expelled are Mr. Jide Amusan( former State Publicity Secretary), Mr. Adeshina Wasiu Shojobi( former Assistant State Youth Leader), Miss Deborah Adewale( former Senatorial Women Leader Ogun East) and Mr. Olatunde Abolade (former Assistant State Secretary).
