Man set ablaze his 5step children



Ojo Joseph is a 64year old Timber seller and father to 10children, he was apprehended for killing his 5 step children.

According to Vanguard reports, the man was angry after giving his wife N600 to buy food to cook for the family, when he demanded for his food, the wife got into an argument which resulted in the suspect setting his step children on fire.



The suspect deny ever strangulating his first wife as speculated by his neighbors, when Interrogated, he said;” I am 64years old. I have married four wives. I did not strangulate my first wife. I have 10 children from different women. 


“The one I married last, I gave her money to buy food and she bought food, she did not give me food, she did not wash my clothes, she always fought me.


“We have been together for two years. She and her children used to fight and beat me. 


“ we were always fighting. She would not fetch water for me. She fought me on the street, she and her children are always fighting me.


“The day children were set ablazed, we fought. Everybody is aware how the children beat me. The night I set them on fire , I gave my wife N600 to prepare food for the family to eat, but I was not given any food that night. I then decided to kill all of her children. 


According to Ojo, before he got married to his wife, she did not disclose to him how many children she had, it was when she parked into his house he became aware and accepted them, she later had twins for him.


The suspect blamed his actions on family spell; “ It wasn’t intentional but I realized my mistake. I regretted what I did to my wife and stepchildren”. Ojo said.


Ondo State police spokesperson, Funmi Odunlami, said the suspect claimed his wife was not taking care of him and she picked up a quarrel over N600 as feeding money for the family. 


“The husband also said he became angry, poured petrol from his chainsaw machine , poured everywhere in the children’s room before setting the pace on fire. He spared his 10months twins and watched his 5step children burn in the fire.


Funmi Odunalmi said; a case of arson/murder was reported at Enu-Owa Divinion, on November 5, 2022. , the case reads; 


“The complainant stated that at about 0300hrs. he heard a cry for help from his neighbor’s step-children room and he discovered that the room was on fire “


“The complainant was able to save four of the five children on fire, the mother got affected by the fire while trying to save the children.

Eric Harris & Dylan Klebold:   Both Americans were involved in one of the deadliest mass shootings in America, the murder duo went to Columbia High school where they were seniors, killed 13 people and wounded 24 others. PDP blames opposition party for Lagos Street Market Inferno.

Famous Lagos Street Market, a huge commercial hub for wholesalers in Benin city, was gutted by fire on Tuesday night, billions worth of goods were loss.  The fire incident seemed to have stirred up the heat between the incumbent, PDP and the opposition party, APC.  On Wednesday, Edo state Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Mr. Chris Nehikhare, pointed fingers at the leadership of the APC for being the ones responsible for the inferno that    caused the loss of billions worth of goods.
