Peter Obi promises Security, Infrastructure among priorities...

 



Peter Obi on Arise tv yesterday outlined 7 key priorities from a 62 paged manifesto titled “Pact with Nigeria”, which he insists will reface the country. The manifesto which contains security, economy, restructure, infrastructure and more assurances was made public on Saturday by Labour Party.

Prioritize Human Capital Development through robust investments in STEM education, health, infrastructural development with emphasis on wealth creation, distribution and sustainable development. 


Engineer the transition of Nigeria from fossil fuel dependency to climate and eco-friendly energy use. 


Pursue holistic poverty eradication with emphasis on agriculture revolution through effective utilization of our vast arable lands, particularly in Northern Nigeria and erase Nigeria’s categorization as the poverty capital of the world. 


Improve access to finance, particularly to MSMEs, youths and women, to significantly reduce unemployment and insecurity.


Ensure that in policy and practice, governance will be made more inclusive, cost effective, transformative and less transactional. No more sharing of the National wealth by a few.”


He also added that Nigeria is progressively better governed through legislative, executive and judicial reforms, so that constitutional separation of power among the three arms of government is entrenched and the three tiers of government allowed to function independently and jointly for a more inclusive and sustainable Nigeria. “

The Vice-president candidate of the Labour Party, Datti Baba-Ahmed was on channel yesterday, he said the APC and the PDP only have structure to disburse money and not implement good governance that would change the lives of Nigerians. 


“There is no such thing as structure; it is the conflagration of people interested in collecting the money they kept. That money must be collected by somebody (you can’t leave them to get away with that money. 



“Tinubu does not have enough days in his life to finish spending that money. Atiku does not have enough days in his life to spend all that money. So, they need to spend it on the 2023 elections. And people, if you have money to spend, they will collect it,” Datti said. 


When asked the crisis within the party, Datti Baba-Ahmed, the running mate to Presidential candidate Peter Obi said, the party is moving very smoothly, he insisted that the party is well resourced but won’t spend money it can’t account.

Eric Harris & Dylan Klebold:   Both Americans were involved in one of the deadliest mass shootings in America, the murder duo went to Columbia High school where they were seniors, killed 13 people and wounded 24 others. After the shooting, they later committed suicide.  Harris and Klebold were born the same year in 1981, Harris was born in Kansas, but his family moved to Colorado while Klebold was born in Columbia, where he was also raised. The duo met in 7th grade, then became friends.  According to reports, Harris began planning the murders, a year before the incident.  The FBI reported that Harris was a psychopath, who exhibited tendency of Narcissistic traits and lacks empathy. PDP blames opposition party for Lagos Street Market Inferno.

Famous Lagos Street Market, a huge commercial hub for wholesalers in Benin city, was gutted by fire on Tuesday night, billions worth of goods were loss.  The fire incident seemed to have stirred up the heat between the incumbent, PDP and the opposition party, APC.  On Wednesday, Edo state Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Mr. Chris Nehikhare, pointed fingers at the leadership of the APC for being the ones responsible for the inferno that    caused the loss of billions worth of goods.
