Three stowaways were found on a ship that left Lagos to Spain after 11days journey on the sea…

According to data collected by maritime websites, the journey is estimated to be more than 2700 nautical miles.


The men who were seen at arrival were taken by the Spanish medics to be hospitalized. At the time of filling this report , two have been discharged, one is still undergoing medical examination, Although physically stable.


There have been incidents of stowaways in the past, like the case of a 14year old boy that travelled from Lagos to Gran Canaria in 2020, according to the young people when asked to narrate his journey, he said; he spent 15days on the rudder of a huge fuel tanker that was heading to Gran Canaria, he was also hospitalized upon arrival in 2020.

The rate of migrants from Africa plying the canary island routes has increased significantly. Rudder is a flat piece hinged vertically near the stern of a ship or boat.

ICPC arrests Dbanj for fraud.

ICPC arrests/detains dbanj for fraudulently siphoning N-Power funds, reports says he connived with some government officials, created ghost beneficiaries and paid the money into accounts which have been linked to him.  Founded by President Muhammadu Buhari, N-power is structured to address the issue of unemployment and also help increase social development . The scheme is part of National Social Investment Program, a social welfare scheme created by the Federal government of Nigeria to provide skills acquisition and jobs for youths and a monthly salary of N30,000.
